CONGRATULATIONS YOU’RE COMING TO THE FESTIVAL!

On behalf of those of us at The Roxbury International Film Festival, we would like to congratulate you on your acceptance to this year’s 21st festival that takes place June 19– June 29, 2019. Your film will be screened among 60+ films at the festival that range from narrative and documentary shorts to documentary and narrative features from all over the world. We understand the hard work and dedication that went in to making your film, from script to production to post and of course distribution and we applaud you and your team. We look forward to sharing your work with the Boston audience.

Information regarding festivities and tickets will be provided within the next week and will be accessible on our website (roxburyinternationalfilmfesetival.com) under the filmmaker tab.

I have attached a schedule so that you can see when your film is currently scheduled in addition to the narrative description of your film.

Here are some very important things we need from you ASAP!

It is imperative that you send images to us so we can use them on our publications, program book and advertisements. Please follow the guidelines below and send via email to Lisa Simmons with a cc: to Katherine Irving at KIrving@mfa.org. The website goes live May 15th and we want to make sure we are putting the best possible opportunity out there for you.

PHOTO SUBMISSIONS

Types: Film stills, action-oriented (Please do not send production images)

Dimensions: 5" x 7",color and/or black & white, 1500 x 2100 pixels

File Formats: jpgs and/or tiffs (at a resolution of 300 dpi)

Photo captions and photo credits will also be required.

FORMATS

The following formats are acceptable:

• DCP

• BluRay (if sending a BluRay, please be sure to include two copies.)

• Digital File If sending the above formats, they must be shipped on a physical hard drive, thumb drive or disc.

• Vimeo and Youtube: If sending from Vimeo, please send the link with the password to access. We can also download from YouTube, but your film will be available to the public. Please no download links.

The Tree House

This is a college residence hall that has single occupancy bedrooms in shared suites available for rental during the summer at great rates. Here is an edited version of their description:

The Tree House is a suite style building on the MassArt campus in downtown Boston. Within each suite are at least two shared occupancy bedrooms and a bathroom for the occupants to share. Shared occupancy bedrooms can be rented as single occupancy (one bed will remain empty in the bedroom); however, the other bedroom may have one or two guests in it as well. While the suites do not have a kitchen, there is a community kitchen on the 3rd floor of the building for all building residents to use. The kitchen contains a full sized fridge, two microwaves, a stove/oven and dishwasher.

The rates for The Treehouse are as follows:

  • Single Occupancy Weekly Rate: $414 per person per week. This is a single occupancy bedroom within a shared suite.

  • Single Occupancy Nightly Rate: $69 per person per night. This is a single occupancy bedroom within a shared suite.

  • Double Occupancy Weekly Rate: $312 per person per week. This is a shared bedroom within a shared suite.

  • Double Occupancy Nightly Rate: $52 per person per night. This is a shared bedroom within a shared suite.

The Artists’ Residence is an apartment style building on the MassArt campus in downtown Boston. Within each apartment are at least two bedrooms (most of them are double occupancy), a bathroom a small kitchen area and sitting area. Shared occupancy bedrooms can be rented as single occupancy (one bed will remain empty in the bedroom); however, the other bedroom may have one or two guests in it as well. The kitchen contains a full sized fridge, stove/oven and dishwasher. The sitting area has a small table and chairs/couches.

The rates for The Artists’ Residence are as follows:

  • Single Occupancy Weekly Rate: $450 per person per week. This is a single occupancy bedroom within a shared suite.

  • Single Occupancy Nightly Rate: $75 per person per night. This is a single occupancy bedroom within a shared suite.

  • Double Occupancy Weekly Rate: $342 per person per week. This is a shared bedroom within a shared suite.

  • Double Occupancy Nightly Rate: $57 per person per night. This is a shared bedroom within a shared suite.

The Smith Hall is a suite style building on the MassArt campus in downtown Boston. Within each suite are two shared occupancy bedrooms and a bathroom for the occupants to share. Shared occupancy bedrooms can be rented as single occupancy (one bed will remain empty in the bedroom); however, the other bedroom may have one or two guests in it as well. While the suites do not have a kitchen, there is a community kitchen on the 1st floor of the building for all building residents to use. The kitchen contains a mini fridge, microwave, and a stovetop.

All units have these amenities: each of the suites/bedrooms are air conditioned and the building is set for WiFi access. There are also Ethernet ports in each of the common sitting areas and bedrooms should the participants wish to bring their own Ethernet cables to connect. While televisions are not provided for the suites/bedrooms, there is a lounge on each floor of the building that does have a television for all building residents to use. The first floor offers a ping pong table and a laundry room that is coin-operated with each load costing $1.75.

The rates for the Smith Hall are as follows:

  • Single Occupancy Weekly Rate: $378 per person per week. This is a single occupancy bedroom within a shared suite

  • Single Occupancy Nightly Rate: $63 per person per night. This is a single occupancy bedroom within a shared suite.

  • Double Occupancy Weekly Rate: $276 per person per week. This is a shared bedroom within a shared suite.

  • Double Occupancy Nightly Rate: $46 per person per night. This is a shared bedroom within a shared suite.

Bed linen and towels: $25.00 per set

The next step would be to confirm availability and send a price estimate and housing agreement for your stay. To do that, we would need the following information:

1. Check in and out dates

2. The building you are interested in

3. Bedroom type (Single, double, triple occupancy)

4. Whether or not linen should be included
